Easy trick if you like drying pans i did as they ran out i subbed for daniel smith, they pan really well and reactivate easily too, makes it inexpensive in the long run if you only buy the color as you need it to switch to pro paint

If you could slow down a little, you are a fast talker and as a beginner my processing time isn’t that fast and I spend a lot of time stoping and backing up listening to things multiple times in order to understand. Thank you for the tip. Have a large sheet that I need to cut and wanted to the same effect. I don't have a bone folder but have everything else, so will improvise.

I totally agree with you on these colours from white night. It is a hit or a message elation the ones I love are like Carmine and ultramarine where the ones I do not like are the worst pains ever.

Nice review, I made my own 'tropicals' palette with Rembrandt colors. Raw sienna, azo yellow medium, orange, red deep, quinacridone rose, blue violet, yellow green, hookers green, phthalo green, phthalo blue, prussian blue and burnt umber.

This was a neat comparison, thank you. I would note that even if Artemis is/was intended to be a "dupe" there is nothing wrong with that since the company would have reverse engineered it and made it their own. To me, when it comes to paints I expect companies to have almost identical colors so we can choose between the company & quality of paints vs being "stuck" with something from a brand we don't like. Not to say I don't like DS since I have not yet branched out to it, but I appreciate DV expanding their collection from more standard colors to experimental ones since for me the price is better.

What a pity, the video has such a bad quality

I LOVE these! I’m saving for this set, hopefully within the next week or 2 I can grab it. Or ask for it for Mother’s Day lol. I have some now but these colors are excellent. I do a lot of art that I scan and make prints of, and a lot of personal sketchbook work so I don’t usually care about lightfast ratings. I like these because of the convenience colors and because I do detailed work with ink as well so I REALLY like the control these give me. I have lovely Daniel Smith and Super Vision for backgrounds and more expressive stuff. Asian style watercolors, like Kuretake Gansai Tambi, White Nights, Rosa Gallery, Mijello Mission Gold, ShinHan and Holbein I find give me much more control, to differing degrees but for me I’ve found then very reliable for small detail areas and a nice consistency and some opacity. Of course there are times I want the clear bright sheerness of Sennelier orSchmincke and the expressiveness of Daniel Smith. But these cannot be beat for character design, detailed and stylized portrait work. I’m so excited to see these swatched out, thank you! They’ve gone beyond my expectations. Can’t wait!!

5:09 First, thanks for all this work you've done on these 'perfect trios'. I worked a few months with the three DS colors you mention. PY150 isn't that hard to get as a single pigment paint, as you say, DS Nickel Azo Yellow has only PY150. I like that one very much!

White Nights DOES have a numbering system for their colors. They have charts with the numbers and properties of each color. I have a 24-pan set, and numbers come on the back side of the box. Thank you for your review. It's very useful to know what colors to purchase. I'm trying to get a more transparent set of primaries.

Tested mine and it kinda absorbed it fast, is cheap watercolor paper, I am a beginner ( well I have learned so much in the couple weeks but still have a lot to learn) and I want to persuade watercolor art as a profession, my issue right now with my paper ( before I move on to a expensier one is that if I can explain it correctly , I paint and then when is drying the color moves and end up with parts (where I applied color) in blank I don’t know if is my mistake, the paper or that’s how watercolor works?

i actually already have a sakura koi 24 colors one, but despite it being already a "pocket field" palette, i find them a bit too bulky for travelling so i really wanna try cotman for paints i can bring around. the reviews are certainly mixed and im spending hours and hours thinking whether i should buy it or not 😂 sometimes i feel like the koi is way more vibrant but i just hate how huge they are. love seeing the avocado slowly comes to life. i think you're completely right in getting a more true red, i would also need a payne's grey. thank you for the thorough review!

I found Artemis was more similar to shadow violet from Roman Szmal, I would love to see a comparison of those two 🙂
